Yet another time, France is seducing visitors worldwide. Figures show that it’s back on track in order to meet its own target of luring 100million visitors every year from 2020.
Hotels and guesthouses have a record 200million in terms of overnight stays in the last quarter of 2017. It accounted a 4% rise on the same period last year.
In Paris, after two years of the terror attacks, the statistics show that the Île-de-France witnessed the greatest increase, a whopping 13% boost in visitor numbers for the third quarter of this year – but the rebound was felt across the country.
Also, the tourism in coastal resorts is booming with hotels showing a 4% jump in terms of overnight stays over the period. Luxury hotels are also witnessing a 10% rise in visitor numbers in comparison to the third quarter of last year as the country gets well from the attacks in Paris in 2015, and the Bastille Day massacre in Nice last year.
Tunisia, Turkey and Egypt were other nations hit by terror attacks. They are still seeing an important drop in terms of tourist numbers in comparison to the period before the most recent events.
