They would be visiting the regions of Metro Manila and Cebu City this week to interact with the travel groups and the media that specialize in Christian pilgrimages. Atout France that is the tourism development agency of France as well as the French Embassy would lead the delegation.
This delegation would be including Bipel the French travel agency and the Avignon Tourism Board and also the Lourdes Tourism Board, as revealed by the embassy in a press release.
The statement quoted Thierry Mathou, the French ambassador who said that it is indeed a fantastic idea to promote France as a destination in Philippines since the nation is rapidly developing as a potential market in the Asian continent for tourism.
He went on to add that France is already the most popular European destination for Filipino tourists and they are determined to maintain this strategic position.
The embassy also stated that France has been a spectacle to nearly 82.5 million tourist arrivals this year, taking to a leading rank as one of the top tourist locales of the world.
Out of this number, nearly 70,000 were Filipino tourists, despite the fact that currently no direct flights connect Philippines to France.
