Travelport, a leading travel commerce platform, has announced the appointment of Fred Lindgren as Country Manager for Spain with effect from 1st August. Fred has most recently been the Director of Strategy for Agency Commerce, where he led significant change programs globally to drive continued growth. As Spain country manager, Fred will be responsible for managing operations and accelerating growth in this key market. He will be reporting into Antonio Loureiro, General Manager for Portugal and Spain, and will be based at Travelport’s office in Madrid.
Fred who grew up and lived in Spain for nearly 20 years joined Travelport in 2014 and has extensive experience in the travel, technology and telecoms sectors, specializing in strategy and marketing. Fred previously worked for a major telecoms operator, where he was responsible for strategic planning across the globe and was based in Spain for over five years acting as key liaison between central and local marketing functions.
Travelport, the B2B travel tech business, is a leading digital travel technology company whose platform combines state-of-the-art technology with industry leading solutions. Last year Travelport’s agency customers issued 117 million airline tickets, sold over 94 million car rental days and 65 million room nights. The company leads its industry in the provision of mobile commerce, B2B commercial payments, airline merchandising capabilities and other travel distribution products provided to corporate and leisure travel agencies, airlines, hotels, car rental companies and rail service providers who interface in to its travel commerce platform.
