‘SNCF’, the national rail company in France, is about to introduce a ‘Happy Card’ for the youngsters from 19th January, Thursday, which will let them get unlimited train rides in exchange of mere €79 a month.
The young 16-27 year-old travellers will get unlimited rides on the Intercité services as well as the high-speed TGV trains across the country with the Happy Card.
The travellers need to buy the Happy Cards online and they can only utilise the scheme if they sign up for at least three months. Also, the travellers can reserve a trip up to one month prior to the date of their journey, instead of three months.
The initiative has been taken by SNCF in order to encourage youth to travel by train instead of bus or car pool.
The youngsters usually avoid travelling by train in France as the rail service is expensive in the country in comparison to the other neighbouring nations.
