With the growing scarcity of bio-fuels, scientists are working day and night to come up with alternative ways to run vehicles. Electric cars are considered to be one of those alternative vehicles. But there is only one problem, the cars can run out of charge anywhere and the drivers might get stranded in the middle of nowhere if they cannot find any charging station nearby. Here comes the startup ElectRoad on the rescue. The company is planning to build roads with wireless energy coils, which would help the electric cars to get charged up automatically while driving.
According to the authorities of the ElectRoad, the batteries which charge the electric vehicles are heavy and expensive. Thus they limit the usage of the electric cars.
The company also informed that the smart and green road is easy to build and the installation process does not take much time as the company can install one kilometre of smart road in mere 12 hours of time.
All they need to do is dig an eight centimetre deep trench and then install the wireless charging strips on the roads. Another coil unit will also need to be placed beneath the cars, so that it can get charged up easily.
The startup plans to form a partnership with public transportation system to start the grand plan, so that it can start tackling air pollution by the end of 2030. So, travellers might soon ride buses, which wold not make any stops to get charged up.
