On 7th and 8th July, 2017, the Heads of State and Government of the world’s top 20 emerging economies and their delegations would be conglomerating in Hamburg in Germany in a crucial event known as the G20 Summit.
The G20 Summit is a large-scale event witnessing the conglomeration of over 10,000 delegates ad journalists thereby positively impacting the reputation of Hamburg as an essential meetings and convention location. It boasts of a strong public appeal. It is expected that the summit would also be creating opportunities for the city to offer itself as a premier business destination.
After the opening of Elbphilharmonie Hamburg in January 2017, the G20 Summit would be another opportunity for Hamburg to improve its profile at an international level.
Hamburg has an excellent record of hosting successful large conferences and it is instrumental in impacting its image for its strong MICE sector.
The region has started drawing the attention of event planners, professional congress organizers, industry associations and different agencies who have been adding the destination to their list of ideal locales for future conventions. So this region is likely to leverage long-term gains as it is getting all braced up for subsequent meetings.
Michael Otremba who is the Managing Director of the Hamburg Convention Bureau said that various opportunities are created by large-scale meetings.
Event including the G20 Summit, 2019 Rotary International Convention offer Hamburg opportunities to display the capacity of the place as an important venue for hosting high-level conferences and meetings.
The Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) is presently going through a great deal of remodeling and renovation.
After it is complete in 2019, it would be one of the largest conference centres in Europe thanks to its 12,000 square meters of exhibition space, seating for 12,000 people, 12,000 square meters of foyer space.
