Gatwick joins hand with Bluecity for electric car rental

car Gatwick airport announced the UK staff, local residents and passengers can reserve and pick up a 100 percent electric car at Gatwick.

 

 

This will allow the users to return the vehicle across any 300 points across London, or back at Gatwick.

 

 

The services is rolled-out in partnership with Bluecity and is same as the schemes popular in other parts of the world.Bluecity is the only company  that operates a pan-London electric vehicle car sharing service with 100 cars.

 

 

There are discussions with local authority and business group on further expanding the network in London and areas which are closer to the airport.

 

 

At present ten cars and charging points are available on Gatwick’s South Terminal forecourt and this will operate in a  similar manner to the existing cycle schemes across the capital.

 

 

 

Via the Bluecity app the customers will be able to reserve cars in seconds and the new point to point service will provide people a convenient, zero emissions travel that will provide a seamless getting on and off the airport.

 

 

Gatwick Airport chief commercial officer, Guy Stephenson stated that Gatwick is a leader in airport innovation and this UK airport provides a new, flexible option that will help commuting on and off the airport easier along with improving the air quality.
