A 90 day, non-extendable, unilateral visa waiver has been announced for American, Australian, Canadian and Japanese nationals going to Brazil exclusively for tourism activities, entering Brazil between June 1 and Sept18, 2016. The visa waiver counted from the first entry within that period.
According to the World Tourism Organization this kind of waiver could increase the amount of travelers from those countries up to 20 percent which means in the case of Brazil around 75,000 international tourists and an input of around US$80 million to the economy.
This visa will be good also for the Special Olympic Games.
It will not be necessary to have a ticket for an official game to benefit from this waiver.
