Georgia has been elected the country to host the next congress of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA). In this event, around 300-500 delegates from 70 countries will gather in Georgia in 2019 to take part. They will be mostly the heads of different tourist guide associations.
This was decided at the 17th WFTGA Convention, where participant countries voted for Georgia for being the host country of the next WFTGA meeting. Representatives from 70 countries attended the 17th WFTGA Convention this month. But only 34 had the right to vote.
Head of the Georgian National Tourism Association Giorgi Chogovadze said it is significant for Georgia to host the event as it would help in the development of both tourism and the profession of tourist guides.
