The travel industry boom of Germany seems no end with overnight stay rising 44.3 million. It is a record value and sixth year in a row to maintain its success in terms of arrival and overnight stay visitors in Germany.
As per Federal Statistics, more than 80.8million overseas visitors stayed in Germany for overnight which is one percent more than 2016. Local residents of Germany comprise a huge section of the travel population with a major increase of 3 percent in domestic tourism data taking overnight stay to 366.5 million.
Hostels with 10 sleeping places, guest houses, hotels, campsites and youth hostels are the most sought-after places for the tourists staying overnight. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Bavaria were the most popular destinations for Germans. Increasing safety issues in countries like Turkey etc. and major crises in other European countries enabled German tourism to experience a huge boom in return. However, German tourism professionals are cautiously optimistic about the same. As per the spokeswoman for the German Center of Tourism, tough financial conditions in Brazil and Russia and sensitive reaction of the Asian tourists toward European terrorist threats boosted Germany’s tourism to a great extent.
