Every year representatives of Germany’s 13 wine regions compete for the title of German Wine Queen. The election of the new queen marks the start of the wine season.
Lena Endesfelder will now be representing German wine at over 200 events at home and abroad.
During the election process candidates had to prove their worth in a range of different categories. These included their knowledge of wine, stage presence, rhetorical skills and also creative spontaneity.
The wine queen was chosen in Mainz – state capital of Rhineland-Palatinate – for the first time in more than 50 years.
