This week, Tourism Ireland in Germany started its programme of promotions 2019 at CMT (holiday exhibition) in Stuttgart. It was joined by 14 Irish and German tourism businesses.

In Germany, CMT is one of the biggest travel fairs, drawing more than 265,000 visitors or potential vacationers for Ireland, who are interested for ideas as well as suggestions for their upcoming holiday. Also, CMT draws eminent tour operators as well as travel agents of around 1,500 travel journalists during its nine-day run.

To quote Zoë Redmond, Tourism Ireland’s manager for Central Europe, “CMT in Stuttgart is our first travel fair of the year, providing an excellent opportunity to spread the word about the many great things to see and do on the island of Ireland, and to encourage German travelers to put Ireland on their holiday ‘wish-list’ for 2019.”

“2018 was the eighth consecutive year of growth for German visitor numbers to the island of Ireland, when we welcomed around 780,000 German visitors. Tourism Ireland will roll out an extensive and targeted programme of activity throughout 2019 to keep the momentum going and build on that growth.”
