The CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) Mr. Gideon Aryeequaye said that the country’s tourism authorities have undertaken aggressive marketing of Ghana’s tourism to the rest of the world. Ghana’s tourism prospects need to be communicated to the greater world for attracting investment in travel and hospitality sectors of the country.
Mr. Aryeequaye said this during WTM London, identifying marketing as a key factor for promoting Ghana’s tourism sector. He said that Ghana has a lot of untapped potential in tourism which the world needs to see and added that Ghana has renewed its agreement with CNN for running ads on the network from next year for promoting the country’s tourism prospective. He said that GTA would place adverts at various stadiums where English Premier League matches were played. Also, Ghana will be digitally accessible to all, where everyone can explore the country online.
Over the years, Ghana has participated in international fairs and tourism-related events in key source markets such as the UK, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands. Ghana’s delegation at the WTM was led by important dignitaries from its ministry of tourism, tourism stakeholders and other travel officials.
