Global travel and hospitality recruitment leader, Progressive Personnel, has launched the first ever Happiness Index to assess the general satisfaction of international travel and hospitality staff in the workplace.Launched mid-May, the survey, the first of its kind in the global hospitality and travel environment, will be distributed to travel and hospitality professionals in key global markets probing their happiness in three key areas:
Happiness at Work
Among those questions for which we are seeking answers, says General Manager James Roberts, is how motivated staff feel at work, whether they are being remunerated adequately and whether they feel respected and valued in their job. “We are also looking at how stressful they believe their job to be, how often they work outside contracted hours and what their prospects are for promotion, growth and development, not to mention whether they would recommend working in travel and hospitality.”
The survey is being conducted in a rating scale format from 1 (least) to 10 (highest) and will be segmented by geographic location, generation and length of years in the travel and hospitality sectors. Readers of TravelMole should keep a look out for the survey to be released on this platform and will also have first access to the results.
“It takes less than three minutes to complete and participants could stand to win one of five mini iPads for their efforts. We also hope that you will see the benefit of encouraging your colleagues to complete it so that we are able to compile the definitive survey into the happiness of the world’s travel and hospitality staff which we believe will give professionals key insights into motivating, retaining, developing and recruiting talent.”
