The modern Turkish hotel group Gloria Hotels & Resorts of Özaltin Holding celebrates its 20th jubilee in the coming year. A wide range of events – especially for golfers – are on the program. Moreover Gloria has a stronger focus on sustainability and wants to set a trend towards environmental consciousness among Turkish hotel owners with its campaign „Gloria´s Habitat. For our Future“.
1997 was a key year for the region of Belek at the Turkish Riviera. Back then Özaltin Holding opened the first golf hotel in this area. The Gloria Golf Resort enjoyed growing popularity, as the largest golf link of the country with two 18-hole championship courses and one 9-hole academic course was developed by the owners.
Next to the Gloria Golf Resort two more 5-star properties were launched: The Gloria Verde Resort (2001) with the first thalassic centre of the region and the Gloria Serenity Resort (2007) with its exceptional Feng-Shui style. The youngest project – the Gloria Sports Arena as the largest sports facility of Turkey – rounded off the portfolio in 2015 and established itself rapidly among professional sports clubs and athletes from all over the world. For instance many medal winners prepared for Olympia 2016 in the Gloria Sports Arena.
With all these developments Gloria Hotels & Resorts established itself as one of the leading hotel brands of the region with many international awards (e.g. TUI Holly or the “Green Star” of the Turkish Tourism Ministry). Innovation, highest quality and the understanding for top-service combined with elegant accommodation and sustainability efforts belong to the core philosophy of the company.
Golf-Events for the anniversary
The three excellent golf courses – Gloria Old Course, Gloria New Course and Gloria Verde Course with a total of 45-holes – are the centrepiece of Gloria Hotels & Resorts. Not until 2013 the largest golf club of the country was overhauled and is ready for the diverse events in the anniversary year.
Thus, Gloria not only has special packages for its repeat guests from all over Europe at jubilee prices, but also offers particular golf event weeks:
– 17th to 24th April 2017: Turkish Airlines European Challenge Tour. Already for the third time in a row professional golfers will be competing on the Gloria New Course.
– 23rd to 30th April 2017: Gloria Ladies Open. 5 tournaments on the Gloria New and Old Course are planned – two pair rounds and three individual Stableford-rounds.
– 13th to 20th May 2017: Nuri Ozaltin Gloria Pro-Am Tournament. 50 teams from all over Europa and leading European top-golfers are expected.
Focus on sustainability with organic wine and more
Corporate social responsibility is of utmost priority for Gloria Hotels & Resorts. With its campaign „Gloria´s Habitat. For our Future“ the hotel group wants to strengthen the awareness of their guests for the natural habitat they spend their holidays in, and boost their knowledge on the different elements of nature. Thus, all products and services are redefined and tailored to the habitat concept. For instance all printing materials are certified according to the FSC standard or made from recycled paper. Also promotional gifts for fairs and events are created from natural materials, e.g. the acclaimed Gloria beach or sports bag, manufactured from housewives.
The further repertoire includes an own fire brigade, to avoid forest fires in the near environment. In the hotel´s own garden organic fruits and vegetables are grown for the most delicious meals in the hotels. Topics around energy, waste recycling and cleaning as well as flora and fauna of the region are also intensified.
One of the newest projects is the own winegrowing, to support local producers. A limited edition of Gloria Wines grows in the so-called “Yanik Ülke” – alias the Cappadocia of the Aegean – and known as the burned land because of its young volcanos. This edition will be presented exclusively to Gloria guests on the occasion of the 20th anniversary in 2017.
