GoAir flight turns back due to fire alarm

emergency-landing1NEW DELHI: A GoAir flight bound for Mumbai with about 100 passengers, including former Army Chief General VK Singh, on board was forced to return to the airport here following a fire alarm Saturday.


The Airbus A-320 had to return under emergency conditions to the IGI airport here after it had been airborne for about 40 minutes.


Upon landing at the airport, the passengers were swiftly shifted to another aircraft which carried them to Mumbai.


The former Army chief was on his way to the Maharashtra state capital to launch his book at the ongoing Mumbai Literary Festival.
