Sea is an excellent stage for the industry of trips and recreation for this island, so the pertinent strategy by authorities to diversify tourist modalities begins to bear fruits.
Key West mayor Craig Cates mentioned his satisfaction for the success of the Havana Challenge regatta, in which a group of 100 U.S. citizens participated in 20 sailboats.
This regatta (from May 16 to 21) was also a new bit in the wish of the peoples from both countries to break above all economic barriers and right of trips.
Those sailboats participated in a friendly competition at the Havana coastline with their Cuban peers, and an exhibition at the Havana harbor, particularly two schooners, copies of some of ancient kind.
Along with Cates, famous U.S. competitors Joe Weatherby and George Bellenger, who also expressed satisfaction for the activity, also participated.
The 65th edition of the Ernest Hemingway International Marlin Fishing Tournament will be held from May 25 to 30 in Cuba, to which about 10 U.S. sailboats have already confirmed their attendance.
