Grantley Hall welcomes Simon Crannage as Director of Food and Beverage, ahead of opening in spring 2019.

 

 

He has over 21 years of experience, working in some of Britain’s top hotels and restaurants. Crannage will oversee the luxury property’s collection of culinary outlets, which are set to shake-up the Yorkshire dining scene.

 

 

Crannage joins Grantley Hall from The Bayford Group where he was Director of Excellence, overseeing the management of Bowcliffe Hall (including the private members club, events space and business park) and The Laudale Estate, a 13,000 acre private estate and exclusive rental house.

 

 

Prior to this, Crannage spent ten years at neighbouring Swinton Park Hotel and Estate as Executive Chef, overseeing all the culinary requirements of the 37-bedroom luxury property, cookery school and glamping site.

 

 

Beginning his career in the south west of England, Crannage spent a year at Charingworth Manor in Chipping Camden as Head Chef, going on to work with a number of UK luxury properties including the Cotswold House Hotel; Gilpin Lodge, Cumbria; Charlton House Hotel; Sharpham Park, Somerset and The Atlantic Hotel, Jersey.

 

 

Simon has gained a number of high profile awards and accolades including; featuring in the 2014 Times Top 100 restaurants of Great Britain whilst at Swinton Park; being crowned Yorkshire Life Chef of The Year 2011-2012 as well as being the recipient of Visit Britain’s Gold Winner Award for the Best Use of British Produce in 2013 .

 

 

Crannage has also appeared as a finalist on ITV’s Britain’s Best Dish in 2011 and as the Yorkshire food expert on the Good Food Channel’s Market Kitchen programme.
