For the Greek tourism sector, a major distinction came from London of late, where the country grabbed a ”Wave Award” for being the best cruise destination of the world for 2019 in a ceremony previous week.
The Wave Awards are considered “the Oscars of Cruising” as they identified and rewarded in terms of excellence and innovation in this vital sector of tourism.
In a report unveiled after the ceremony, Wave Awards officials observed that the finalists taking part in a prestigious black-tie event and gala dinner at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London.
On March 7th, the ceremony took place in London, where Greece was acknowledged as the”best cruise destination in the world for 2019” in the category”Port or Country.”
Emy Anagnostopoulou, the chief of the Greek National Tourism Organization’s office for the UK and Ireland received the award.
Also, Greece was proclaimed as the second most favorite cruise destination in the category of the people’s vote, following Barbados, which was voted favorite in the world.
This newest accolade coincides with the recent distinction of Greece being named the best tourism destination of the world at the ITB Berlin travel convention last week.
