greeecBritish holidaymakers are not being deterred from booking Greek breaks this summer despite the ongoing economic turmoil the country is facing says travel software solutions specialist Multicom.

Demand for Greek holidays has remained in line with expectations in recent weeks report the Bristol-based company with both enquiries and bookings via its FindandBook reservations software maintaining comparable levels year on year.

Multicom Chief Executive John Howell said: “It would appear that once again the resilience of British holidaymakers is undiminished with demand for breaks to Greece this summer unaffected by the country’s bail outs and economic woes.

“We have seen no noticeable downturn in demand for Greek breaks and sales are matching the same levels we saw last year.

“The Greek islands remain as popular as ever and we see no indications of that changing in the weeks ahead despite the ongoing political and financial uncertainty.

“While the economic forecast for Greece remains bleak it can at least take some consolation that British holidaymakers are not turning their backs on the country that relies so heavily on the tourist industry.”
