visit monacoGreen is the New Glam campaign is launched by Visit Monaco as it seeks to become a destination that is as environmentally conscious as it is glamorous.

 

 

 

Monaco e-Rallye, the eco-responsible Grimaldi Forum & Cultural Centre, and the marine conservation Monaco Blue Initiative is attended annually by experts in ocean management and conservation from the UN, UNESCO, European Commission and more.

 

 

 

Monaco has bridged the gap between luxury and made sustainability a priority. With this campaign the commitment will be further developed and the principal agendas will come to the forefront.

 

 

 

The campaign aims to build on this commitment and bring it to the forefront of the principalities agenda.

 

 

Targets like cutting greenhouse gas emissions before 2030 by half compared with 1990 levels and of achieving total carbon neutrality by 2050 has been put in place.

 

 

A number of measures has been unveiled by government of Monaco to ensure that the principality meets the targets for sustainability.

 

 

There will be a set up of a Mission for Energy Transition, which manages a fund to support green initiatives.

 

 

It will grant to help local businesses by making  the transition to renewable energy sources.

 

 

The campaign is comprises €5.9 billion – over 6.2 per cent – of the principality’s GDP and the sector draws more than 355,000 visitor per year implying that the changes made by the industry partners will be helpful in protecting the local environment.

 

 

 

The government funded ‘Smart+’ programme saw hoteliers gifting Smart Box which allows them to easily monitor the electricity consumption. It also has an action plan of considerable energy savings.
