Paul Gregorowitsch, the chief executive of Oman Air has stepped down, the board of directors of Oman Air has accepted the resignation. The board further thanked Paul Gregorowitsch for his performance during his tenure with the company.
However the company did not specify any reason for the resignation.
Abdulazia Saud AlRaisi, executive vice president for products and brand development will take over as the acting chief executive immediately till the permanent replacement of the chief is announced.
Gregorowitsch had earlier served Airberlin as the former chief commercial and joined Oman Air in 2014. The airline saw rapid expansion under his leadership.
It was reported that the carrier was consistently incurring loss and faced reduction in the amount of financial support it got from the Omani government. The loss for the year 2016 was more than $330 million.
Gregorowitsch said before his departure that the carrier would again be making a loss in 2017.
