Grenada urges Canada to review visa requirements

Published on : Thursday, July 16, 2015

Grenada unveilsThe government of Grenada has asked Canada to review visa requirements for Grenadians wanting to visit the North American country for tourism or business.

Prime Minister Keith Mitchell has met with Canadian Premier Stephen Harper to discuss possible changes in the costs and visa services for Grenadians, the government said Tuesday in a statement.

Mitchell said his concern also include the inconvenience Grenadians experience when they have to go to Trinidad and Tobago to obtain visas to enter Canada.

Harper said he will re-evaluate visa requirements for Grenadian nationals and “consider appointing a (Canadian) representative to come to Grenada once or twice a month to provide visa and other consular services,” the Grenadian government said.
