It gives the hotel group enhanced distribution opportunities from GTA’s wholesale and retail HTML and XML systems, its expertise and a global network of over 2,300 local professionals worldwide.
With tens of thousands of travel bookings daily, GTA gives hoteliers access to previously untapped marketplaces and more guests. The company saw room nights booked in the Middle East increase 25% last year with Jordan, Oman, the UAE and Saudi Arabia showing particularly healthy growth. GTA will now begin integrating the group’s systems before going live for bookings in the coming weeks. Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Middle East & Africa has a strong presence throughout the Middle East with properties in key capital and gateway cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha and Muscat.
James Phillips, GTA’s Vice President for EMEA FIT Hotel Sourcing, says: “Our new partnership with Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Middle East & Africa means our customers can book an even greater choice of accommodation for their clients. The agreement is key to GTA’s longevity and success as we tap a number of important trends. It helps us offer an even wider range of accommodation options in rising and strong destinations.”
Naeem Darkazally, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Millennium & Copthorne Hotels Middle East & Africa, says: “We are excited to announce the signing of our new distribution agreement with GTA that opens up our total hotels’ inventories in the region to GTA clients and customers alike. With an extensive coverage in the Middle East, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels provide the ultimate hotel accommodation solutions in quality and services in all major cities in the region, such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Doha, Kuwait, Amman, Mussanah Oman and Sulaimania, Iraq Kurdistan. This agreement comes in line with Millennium & Copthorne Middle East & Africa’s strategy in developing global alliances and providing the latest booking channels solutions for our Preferred Travel Agents’ business partners.”
GTA’s dynamic inventory approach to such partnerships strengthens its connections with hotel suppliers and those who sell travel. It gives them and their consumer clients’ access to a chain’s full portfolio of properties including the ‘long tail’ of accommodation in less familiar locations. With travellers increasingly seeking out newer destinations off the beaten track, GTA can help hotels tap the popularity of experiential tourism and. further extend the variety of rate options for accommodation. In the last three years alone, deals with 69 chains have added more than 29,000 properties to the inventory that agents and tour operators can sell on.
