Flight 320 had taken off from the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia. The plane touched down at Florida around 3.51 p.m. and was carrying 157 air travellers. According to the airline officials, none of them have been hurt on account of the emergency landing.
Passengers said that suddenly, they experienced a great jolt, and they felt as if they have struck something.
However, as a safety measure, a few firefighters were on standby. Passengers said that they had felt the plane suddenly drop several times while it was braving a storm as well as a strong turbulence prior to the emergency landing.
These passengers were scheduled to fly to Haiti on Tuesday morning as the authorities of Delta made attempts to organize their overnight stay in Florida.
Delta said in one of its statements that the flight crew members of Delta flight 685 from Atlanta to Port-au-Prince, Haiti was diverted to Daytona Beach due to an abundance of caution following an issue with the windshield of the aircraft.
