According to the “State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2018/19”: “Muslim-friendly beach resorts in Turkey have made a strong case study for the huge demand and revenue potential of halal beach resorts. The annual revenue of Turkish halal-friendly resorts in 2018 is estimated by HalalBooking.com to be US$184 million, 80-90 per cent of HalalBooking.com’s US$14 million revenue in 2017 was from beach resort bookings.”
HalalBooking’s Chief Marketing Office, Ufuk Seçgin said: “Halal-friendly travel is all about offering choice to our customers, so they can select the features which are important to them and their family. We simply make it easier for our customers to find the information which they require.”
HalalBooking.com has over 300,000 customers across 75 countries, and offers halal-friendly accommodation worldwide. Its biggest outbound markets are European markets such as the UK and Germany. It allows its customers to filter hotel and villa accommodation by halal-friendly filters such as availability of halal food, alcohol-free areas, dedicated women’s facilities such as spas and pools and family-friendly entertainment. It also has unique features such as ‘precise total family pricing’ to provide accurate prices and suitable room options for larger family groups.
Turkey is a market-leader in halal-friendly beach resorts. HalalBooking.com’s Chief Marketing Officer, Ufuk Seçgin, is quoted in the State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2018/19 as saying: “We’ve had tremendous success with halal-friendly beach resorts in Turkey. Bed capacity has increased by 450% over the past five years.” Turkey is also home to the world’s first halal-friendly ski hotel, the Bof Uludag, in the country’s premier ski resort.
