Hampton by Hilton Expands in Russia with Volgograd Groundbreaking

Hampton Hotels, the global hotel brand of nearly 1,900 mid-priced Hampton Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites and Hampton by Hilton hotels, today announced the groundbreaking of the 160-room Hampton by Hilton Volgograd City Centre, set to open during the summer of 2014. Once open, the hotel is expected to create 55 full-time jobs in Volgograd.

The property is owned by Osnova Group and will be operated by Osnova Hotel Management.  The hotel will be constructed by local and regional contractors who had the opportunity to bid on the project. Construction, led by Volgostoitelnoye and PCG of Russia and Germany respectively, is expected to be completed by August 2014. To commemorate the groundbreaking, a ceremony was held on September 4, 2012 with several local dignitaries in attendance, including Volgograd Region Governor Sergei Bazhenov, Acting Head of the Administration of Volgograd Vladimir Sobakar, strategic investor of the project Dmitriy Doyhen, managing partner of Osnova Group Alexander Koltykov and Director Brand Support Hilton Worldwide Nuri Keles.

The 8-story hotel will be located at Rokossovskogo Street 51, Volgograd, Russia and situated amidst the largest business center in the South Region of Russia which features the world’s tallest monument, Motherland Calls. The Hampton by Hilton Volgograd City Centre is the second property to break ground in Russia in recent months, with the Hampton by Hilton Voronezh scheduled to open this summer.

Hampton Hotels is distinguished by its unique culture of hospitality – called “Hamptonality.” This term describes each hotel’s approach to friendly customer service, anticipating guests’ needs and providing travelers with helpful suggestions about area attractions, historical facts and fun things do around town. Additionally, hotels are infused with local photography and art work, highlighting each property’s connection to its own community.

Currently, there are 1,887 Hampton hotels in operation and more than 300 announced projects under development throughout Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Poland, Romania, Russia, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.
