Havana, the capital city of Cuba is gradually occupying an essential position in Cuban tourism. This has not only been confirmed by official statements but also by the opinions, repeated by travelers pouring in from various parts of the world.
However, Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) is quite concerned on the accommodation capacities in Havana.
In two years from now, this city will be 500 years old. It was founded in 1519 and its ephemerides are a moment for higher attractions.
Tourists across the world show interest to visit the island, especially, to know how Havana is.
Nonetheless, experts, investigators and MINTUR officials found the cosmopolitan nature to be one of the strongest reasons for attracting the attention of thousands of people from the entire world but the city is in dire need of more places to stay.
At the end of May, influx of visitors grew in 29 percent, according to the records of the delegate of MINTUR in Havana, Xonia Beltran in comparison to the same period in 2016.
Countries like Germany, France, Italy, United Kingdom and Spain are the main markets of Havana. Another curious factor to note is that Cuban tourism from November to April, the high season, now almost disappears as a parameter, as in the summer (July and August) there are many travelers who already fill the streets.
