The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) is motivating organizers of different festivals and events in the Hawaiian islands to enroll in a funded professional development program that is presented by the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) at a discounted rate.
It is being presented in partnership with IFEA and the Country of Maui.
The program’s curriculum would be offered in two phases on Oahu and Maui in February and April.
Participants need to successfully complete the phases and thereafter they would be entitled to a certificate of completion. Eventually they would be offered a Certified Festival & Event Executive (CFEE).
Caroline Anderson who is the tourism brand manager of HTA mentioned that HTA is sponsoring this educational and certification program as an essential service to festival and event organizers supporting the responsibility they have in sharing the inherent traditions and cultural characteristics of Hawaii with residents and visitors.
He said that HTA invests in many festivals and events statewide.
Furthermore he also feels that there is immense value in offering organizations this exclusive training and educational program that further enhances the visitor experience thereby fostering greater economic benefits for the communities of Hawaii.
