As recommended by LGBT Hawaii, the Hawaii Tourism Authority or HTA declared today that two different research studies have been published offering a closer look on the profiles, preferences along with opinions of LGBT travelers coming from countries like Japan and Taiwan, visiting the Hawaiian Islands.
Authorized by HTA’s Tourism Research Division, the research studies were conducted by Community Marketing & Insights which is a San Francisco-based firm specialized in LGBT consumer research. First ever done, the two recent studies complete a set of six studies that are the evaluating LGBT travel to the Hawaiian Islands by the State of Hawaii.
Four studies were issued earlier this year, analyzing LGBT travelers from the United States, Canada, Australia and China.
In the Reports Section of HTA’s website at www.HawaiiTourismAuthority.org., under Target Lifestyle Segments, all six LGBT travel studies are posted online. Jennifer Chun, HTA Director of Tourism Research, explained that the studies on Japan and Taiwan offer precious information in terms of survey respondents in every country that Hawaii tourism industry partners can make use of it to lure more LGBT travelers from these two countries.
“The studies’ findings reveal there is potential in Japan and Taiwan to reach a larger percentage of LGBT travelers from both markets,” said Chun. “Hawaii tourism partners can customize their marketing programs to make a vacation in the islands a more enticing option compared to other destinations in Asia that are currently drawing the bulk of LGBT travelers from Japan and Taiwan.”
