U.S. Dollar 5 billion megaproject comprises six man-made islands created with 34 billion tonnes of large rocks and 320 million cubic meters of sand deposited in the sea across millions of square feet. The six islands four kilometers off the Dubai coastline represent the mix of European countries and cities – Venice and St Petersburg, Sweden, Germany, Switzerland and others. The progress of the vast project could be tracked by the astronauts from the space.
The latest project of ‘The Heart of Europe’ is The World. The developers behind The Heart of Europe, is Kleindienst. One corner of The Heart of Europe is preparing to welcome guests.
Spanning over the six million square feet, the Heart of Europe covers 13 hotels and resorts and more than 4,000 holiday homes to accommodate up to 16,000 people. It features climate-controlled streets and underwater bedrooms.
The first phase of construction includes 10 waterfront ‘palaces’ on Sweden Island, 32 villas on Germany Island and 78 floating homes dubbed ‘Floating Seahorses’ surrounding St Petersburg Island.
Handover of properties begins in 2019 and will be completed in 2020, as per Kleindienst. The second-home buyers are being targeted and about 85 per cent of its units have been sold. About70 per cent of buyers are from the UAE and wider Gulf Cooperation Council nations.
