More than 30,000 acres of land has been burnt down by three wild fires; Juniper Fire in Arizona, North Fire in New Mexico and Jack Fire in Arizona. LA County Fire officials have stated that the Fish Fire has not been contained yet and it consumed 3000 acres of land till now. Wildfire in San Gabriel Canyon near LA popped up and instantly consumed 1500 acres on Monday 20th June.
Citizens and tourists in Arizona are experiencing deadly heat. Six have been killed by the heat between Saturday 18th June and Sunday 19th June. Two hikers in Phoenix and three more near Tucson have died because of heatstroke. One hiker near Tucson is still missing but the search operation was suspended to protect the rescuers from the heat.
The heat waves are the result of a heat dome. The weather condition, which creates heat waves and hikes up the temperature to the extreme.
Tourists and citizens are urged to stay indoors during day-time to avoid any mishap. If possible, tourists are asked to avoid any trip to the Southwest US.
Tourism industries in Arizona, New Mexico, California, and Los Angeles are getting most of the heat, quite literally.
