Storm Sebastien will reportedly bring 22ft waves, at least two inches of rain and 50mph winds to the U.K. over the next few days.

Huge waves are expected to crash into the coast of south-west England today as remnants of the storm make landfall.

The Met Office has issued three rain warnings for the next three days.

The first, which started yesterday afternoon and is due to end at 10 am today, affects south-west England and south Wales, with up to 25mm of rain expected in areas.

Another alert has been issued across the south-west, south and south-east England from noon tomorrow to 3 pm on Wednesday.

Forecasters have anticipated up to 60mm of rain in some spots, equal to roughly two weeks of rain.

Rain could lead to flooding in parts of the South, South Wales, East and North-East. Coastal flooding is possible on Wednesday on the south coast of Wales.

“Land, roads and properties could flood and travel disruption are also expected.”

Monday represents the calm before the storm starts off generally cloudy with light rain for the morning commute across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

The rain gradually clears north through the day and is followed by brighter conditions. However, the south will remain wet with sharp showers.

Scotland generally starts off dry if rather cloudy, but rain further south will push north through the day across the southern half of Scotland.

Northern Scotland could stay dry until as late as the evening.

Temperatures throughout the UK will be relatively mild, ranging from 9-13C, with the warmest temperatures in the southwest.

Monday’s rain or showers clear north during the night to be replaced by drier conditions for a time across central and eastern areas before the next low-pressure system moves into the southwest.

This next low will be deeper and will contain the remnants of ex-tropical storm Sebastien, which nearly reached Hurricane status during the week to the NE of the Caribbean.
