Heavy Storm Affected Areas Around San Antonio

storm JebiAccording to the National Weather Service Less than an inch of rain has fallen at San Antonio International Airport since midnight, compared to 11.3 inches at Canyon Lake, 9 inches at Round Rock and 5 inches at Spring Branch. A number of roads in Bexar County were closed, including Blanco and Bulverde roads at Cibolo Creek, on Thursday morning.

 
Because of the rain, School in the Wimberley Independent School District and San Marcos CISD was canceled on Thursday, the districts announced on their websites. Hays CISD, Dripping Springs ISD and New Braunfels ISD have delayed the start of school by two hours Thursday morning.

 
The city’s police department said Crews in New Braunfels vacated some homes and businesses along the Guadalupe River south of Canyon Lake. The city was warning people to watch for rising water in the river and to move to higher ground if needed. according to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office, no injuries or deaths have been reported because of the storm.

 
The rain should clear out of Bexar County by 10 a.m. and out of Travis County by about 11 a.m., leaving dry skies for trick-or-treating Thursday night.
