West Country cottage specialist, Helpful Holidays, has been nominated as a finalist for a 2015 British Travel Award (BTA) in two categories, namely the Best UK Cottage/Self Catering Booking Company and The Best Holiday Accommodation Provider for Customer Service.
This follows the Chagford, Devon based agency’s success over the past four years when it has been consistently placed in the top two in the Best Medium Cottage/Self Catering Booking (UK properties) category. It’s also the first year in which Helpful Holidays have registered for the The Best Holiday Accommodation Provider for Customer Service award.
The winners will be determined by the consumer, who has until 30th September to cast their vote, with the winners announced at the BTA Gala Awards Dinner, being held in London on 25th November 2015.
Delighted to be shortlisted for the fifth year in succession, Helpful Holidays Managing Director, Moray Bowater, said; “We’re flattered to have been nominated in two categories this year and, in particular, to be shortlisted for a Customer Service award in our first year of entering this category. Helpful Holidays has always focused on reliability and attention to detail, telling it like it is and providing our customers with an absolutely honest review of the properties we let. Ultimately, trust is the currency that counts and earning that of our customers, and potential customers, has been our touchstone for nearly 35 years”.
The British Travel Awards are acknowledged as the most definitive and largest monitor of public opinion on the performance of travel and tourism providers. Travel companies and tourism organisations were invited to register for listing in the various categories; a shortlist was then drawn up by a panel of respected individuals from both in and outside of the travel industry. The next stage sees the shortlisted companies put before the public vote so it’s the leisure holidaymakers who finally determine the winners.
The excellence in customer service awards are sponsored by Feefo, an independent consumer feedback platform, for which Helpful Holidays has achieved a Gold Trusted Merchant accreditation for two consecutive years.
British Travel Awards’ chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “The British Travel Awards are the largest consumer voted programme in the UK. Last year more than 1.25 million votes were cast to determine the winners and to receive a BTA is a true accolade, with the awards being recognised by the travelling public as the benchmark for excellence. Good luck to Helpful Holidays; they must urge all their happy customers to cast their votes by 30th September.”
