A new minibus service provider will commence operation at Budapest Airport on 1 January, after the consortium of Petrányi Autó and BUDPORT won Budapest Airport’s recent minibus tender. The consortium will provide its services under the name miniBUD, and will not only maintain the continuity of minibus services, but will also make significant developments in quality.
miniBUD will provide airport transfer services with a completely new, simple and flexible booking system, comfortable vehicles, a Wi-Fi service and favorable conditions. Having recognized the success of the low cost carrier business model, basic service will be offered for a lower price, but passengers will also have an opportunity to purchase additional services. miniBUD will provide the best value for money, with door-to-door ground transportation.
The winning consortium has signed a five-year contract with Budapest Airport. After the launch of the service, the new operational model will be rolled out by June, but service provision will be seamless during the transition period as well. The airport minibus fleet will consist of 60 modern, comfortable and environmentally friendly vehicles, whereby not only is passenger satisfaction set to increase, but the commitments undertaken in the Greenairport program launched by Budapest Airport this year can also be fulfilled. Petrányi Autó supplies the fleet and the technical background for the joint venture, whilst BUDPORT contributes a strong, innovative commercial approach and experience in serving aerial passengers.
“The most important requirements for high-quality service provision include not only the fleet of sixty modern minibuses, but also the technical background required for their maintenance and continuous availability. The new vehicles will be serviced at our technical base operating at the airport, whereby even the smallest problem affecting passenger comfort can be remedied within the shortest possible time,” said Zoltán Petrányi, the owner of Petrányi Autó.
“The most important consideration during planning was to maximize the airport experience for passengers. We will provide an excellent door-to-door transportation service, for an affordable price. We know that the journey from the airport to the city is definitive in terms of the first impressions for foreigners upon their arrival in Hungary. With the high-quality service approach of miniBUD, we not only wish to contribute to the image of Budapest Airport, but to that of Hungary as well,” commented Ferenc Galgóczy, the owner of BUDPORT.
“miniBUD is familiar with the needs and habits of aerial passengers, so it is able to allocate its resources more flexibly, to the greater satisfaction of its passengers. We want to be more than just a transportation service provider; we will offer all-inclusive solutions, from the airport to the hotel or apartment. A simplified version of airlines’ on-board sales system will be available in miniBUD’s vehicles, whereby we will be able to sell tourism-related services to foreigners and accident, sickness and baggage insurance to Hungarian travelers. It will also be possible to print out boarding passes for the passengers of certain airlines, as well as to purchase additional onboard services,” said Lóránt Limburger, the prospective managing director of miniBUD.
“With Petrányi Autó and BUDPORT, we have seen one of the largest vehicle service companies in Hungary partnering with an innovative business partner at Budapest Airport emerging as the winner in our minibus tender. Budapest Airport are certain that they will provide high-quality transportation services to passengers and the customer-oriented approach miniBUD will provide to its clients is vitally important for us to maintain our reputation as best airport in the region,” commented Kam Jandu, the chief commercial officer of Budapest Airport.
