While presiding over the closing ceremony of Janjehli Tourism Festival held at Janjehlu in Seraj area of Mandi district the Chief minister announced Rs one crore for construction of Seraj Kala Manch.
For the construction of Mini Secretariat a tJanjehli he announced Rs 3 crore so that all the offices could be housed in the complex.
The rich cultural diversity and natural beauty of the area was showcased in the festival and the minister said that Himachal Pradesh has several tourists’ destinations like Shimla, Manali, Kullu,Dharamshala etc. However, there were a number of virgin destinations that needed development.
This will help in reducing pressure on the already overcrowded tourist destinations so the State Government has decided to develop Chanshal in Shimla district as Winter sport and skiing destination, Janjehli in Mandi district as eco tourism destination, Bir Billing in Knagra district as a Paragliding destination.
The Pong Dam in Kangra districts as Water sports destination.
Club Mahindra Group has agreed to set up a resort in Jhanjheli in the district while efforts are being made to setup a ropeway upto a famous tourist place Shikari Mata Temple to ensure expansion of tourism activities in the area.
