After a long renovation work, the historic Keswick Hall in Charlottesville, Virginia, is set to reopen in the autumn of 2020 with a new look to attract more guests. The entire property has been expanded and updated with a new guest wing that will increase the number of accommodations to 80 guestrooms and the addition of a new infinity pool, cabanas and reimagined resort grounds.

The guest accommodations will feature four signature suites, including a two-bedroom presidential suite. All guestrooms will have light woods, furniture with classic upholstery, beds with Duxiana mattresses and red flower bathroom amenities with a customized scent exclusive to the property. In-room technology will include smart TVs and Lutron lighting that let guests personalize the room’s privacy settings with the touch of a button. The walls will be decorated with photography that captures the neighboring farms and countryside.

The signature restaurant on property will be helmed by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, overseeing his first Virginia restaurant. With 130 indoor seats, 20 bar seats and 70 outdoor seats, the new space will have white tiled and wooden floors, custom-designed light fixtures from L’Observatoire International, a ceramic-face bar, a stone fireplace and an outside area.

For other outdoor experiences, landscape architecture firm Nelson Byrd Woltz is creating walking paths and resort grounds that reflect the native Virginia landscape. An infinity pool will be the focal point of Keswick Hall’s new pool pavilion and cabanas. The pavilion will have a hammerhead design that will allow for more guests to use the space.
