emergency-landingComing home for Christmas holiday, passengers of the American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles were in for an emergency landing at Lubbock, Texas due to mechanical issue.

The airline blamed the sudden diversion on “mechanical issue.” The American Airlines flight 295 declared an emergency for engine oil warning light. There were 186 passengers and a crew of six, in the Airbus 321.

The passengers were shifted to a replacement aircraft which due to the short length of the runway in Lubbock could not take on the amount of fuel necessary to make it to Los Angeles. The aircraft had to land at Dallas for refueling and continued to its final destination. The AA plane sat on the runway for hours with passengers on board, with the door left open for those who wished o take another flight. Their luggage was loaded and then removed for reweighing while some others waited on board.
