Hong Kong Airlines in Japan forced into emergency landing

hong kong After the cabin started to de-pressurise Airbus A330 jet made an emergency landing in northern Japan, a government official said.

 

No passengers were hurt in the Hong Kong Airlines flight carrying 223 passengers and 12 crew members. The flight took off from the New Chitose Airport, the main gateway to the northern Japanese islands of Hokkaido at 5.07 pm.

 

The pilot reported that around 5.36 pm there was a sudden decompression observed mentioned a Japanese transport ministry official.

 

 

The cause behind the loss in pressure was not immediately clear. The pilot declared it an emergency at 6.36 and landed in New Chitose.

 

The severity of the depression was not as critical to deploy the masks as the oxygen masks did not come down automatically.
