Hong Kong Airlines announced the launch of non-stop flights between Los Angeles and Hong Kong on December 18 on Airbus A350 aircraft.There will be a line-up of international airlines flying to the US by winter.
The airline is also expected to begin with four round-trip flights in a week before starting of the daily services on January 16.
It was within a span of two months that the news of the LA route came after Hong Kong Airlines began flying from Vancouver, it’s first North American destination.
The Hong Kong Airlines founded in 2006 apart from the new North American routes flies from Hong Kong to 30 other destination across Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
George Liu, Hong Kong Airlines’ chief marketing officer said that, after the success of the Vancouver route, it was a proud moment for them to launch the first route in the continental United States and further expand the international network.
The Americans will have more options with the strengthening of the connection between North America and our Asia Pacific destinations.
Hong Kong Airlines will have oneworld partners American and Cathay Pacific as competitors who would be flying non-stop on the route.
Although Los Angeles will be the carrier’s maiden route to the mainland United States.n Hong Kong Airlines had already flown to Saipan, part of the U.S.-controlled Northern Marianas Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
Last week the carrier’s first A350 made its maiden flight at Airbus’ assembly line in Toulouse, France.
