The tourism ministry is attempting to usher in a flavor of Indonesia to Hong Kong thanks to an exhibition known as ‘Bali and Beyond’ that would be hosted from 26th to 27th November at Hong Kong’s Amoy Plaza.
This event would present authentic Indonesian coffee, games, spa and virtual reality (VR) Corner.
The Ministry has also invited numerous travel agents in Hong Kong that sell Indonesian destinations to take part in the exhibition. Hong Kong is among the potential markets of Indonesia as the average spending of tourists in Hong Kong while taking trips to Indonesia is about $1,340 per visit.
But then the number of tourist arrivals from Hong Kong has been decreasing.
It had been up till September this year as the number of Hong Kong travellers in Indonesia were 64,634, down by 1.1% from 2016.
This year the ministry is aiming to welcome 107,000 Hong Kong tourists.
Vinsensius Jemadu who is the deputy assistant for Asia-Pacific Tourism Promotion mentioned that because of this grand event, they are optimistic that it would be able to raise the promotion for tourism in Indonesia and the number of travellers from this nation.
The event would observe 10 destinations and also regional tourism brands presented to tourists including Colorful Medan, Wonderful Riau Islands, Enjoy Jakarta, Stunning Bandung, Java Cultural Wonders, Majestic Banyuwangi, Friendly Lombok, Explore Makassar, Coral Wonders for Bunaken, Wakatobi, Raja Ampat and Bali the Island of the Gods.
Jemadu feels that Bali was selected as the main theme since this part of the world continues to be a popular destination among Hong Kong tourists.
