The Red Couch Tour is a part of the 150 celebrations and it had stopped in the region of New Brunswick.
This event aims to encourage people to assemble around it and explain what Canada means to them.
The couch would be travelling a distance of about 20,000 kilometres over the following two months from coast to coast.
So far, the 20 free-standing rock formations have always been a tourist attraction for globetrotters. However, lately, guides are finding it challenging to retain their attention on account of some special birds. Paul Harris, a tour guide has confessed that whenever he goes for guided walking tour along the beaches he gets upstaged by some falcons that have built their nests in the park.
Last year saw a record number of tourists visiting the rocks and as many as 230,000 walked the beaches.
Ever since the season started, the numbers have risen by nearly 13%. Guides feel that one of the most important reasons people flock to these rocks is the curiosity about the collapse of one of the iconic figures last year.
The tourism experts and tour guides feel that this would be setting a new standard at the Hopewell Rocks.
