balloon crash A tragic hot air balloon crash at a safari holiday in South Africa killed a 48-year-old British traveller after she fell down from the basket of her balloon, which was at a height of almost 20ft.

It was found that the unfortunate lady Susan Astle was enjoying the hot air balloon ride with her husband and their children before strong winds flipped their basket and she tipped down.

Right after the crash, Susan Astle was rushed to the nearby hospital but as she suffered serious head injuries, she died the very next day.

As the basket turned down, another lady and her four-year-old daughter were also thrown out and the basket got dragged along the rocky surface and it eventually smashed into a tree. Both of them had to be admitted to the hospital and they were being treated for internal and spinal injuries.

It was found that the trip was organised by Original Balloon Safaris, where 14 travellers boarded the balloon in South Africa’s Mooinooi.

At present the balloon safari firm and the local authorities are investigating the tragic accident. The pilot of the balloon is receiving a counselling as well.
