Hotel fire in Jakarta kills two

jakarta-hotel-fireA massive fire along with thick smoke inside a karaoke room of a hotel in West Jakarta suffocated two people to death on Monday, 2nd January, 2017.

 

 

The Grand Paragon Hotel, situated in West Jakarta’s Taman Sari, discovered the fire in a karaoke room around 9:30 am local time. According to the hotel authorities, the fire was caused due to an electrical failure. Right after the fire was reported to the local authorities; over 30 fire trucks along with fire officials were deployed to the scene to battle the blazing fire.

 

 

The fire officials informed that among the dead, one was a hotel guest and the other was a security official.

 

 

The police chief of Taman Sari in Jakarta informed that both of the victims died after breathing in smoke. The police also stated that they would keep investigating the incident.

 

 

The eyewitnesses could see thick black smoke coming out of the hotel.
