Customers flying from United, Southwest and American can avail waivers travelling to and from Houston to several other Texas cities from Friday through Sunday.
Delta’s waiver of additional charges for changing plans will be available till Saturday.
FlightAware.com , tracking service mentioned that it is a routine experience for airlines to cancel flights on account of bad weather, although a few have been scrapped so far.
Bill Begley, a spokesman for Bush Intercontinental and Hobby airports mentioned that the debris were being cleared and the pumping stations being checked to prevent flooding. The airport will remain open but changes could occur on the direction based from the federal aviation officials.
Corpus Christi, Texas officials mentioned that all flights out of the city’s airport for the rest of the day have been canceled as Hurricane Harvey approaches.
The airport does not expect much activity over the weekend, runways will be closed as per the condition. It is expected that the hurricane will make landfall late Friday or on early Saturday morning.
There are no scheduled flights until Monday in Corpus Christi for Southwest and United Airlines. The American Airlines is expected to resume services on Saturday.
