The Nature Park, only minutes away from Palmerston, is a well visited place where visitors can walk, relax, explore and cool off in a safe and friendly environment.
The Giles Government is delivering for families with a new shelter built at Howard Springs as well as landscaping completed to provide a natural physical barrier of native plants between the rock pools and water hole. Irrigation has also been installed to ensure the Park stays green and fresh throughout the year.
Minister for Parks and Wildlife Bess Nungarrayi Price said Howard Springs was maintained as a bushland oasis for families to ‘get outdoors’, enjoy picnics and barbeques and get close to local and aquatic wildlife, such as barramundi and turtles.
MLA Lia Finocchiaro said ‘Howard Springs has always been a place for families and now even more people can enjoy it.I am proud that we are continuing to invest in outdoor recreational opportunities for Territory families
The Nature Park includes facilities that will provide visitors and families with hours of fun, including:
Shallow rock pools where people can cool-off in an attractive setting;
A nature-based playground which uses existing trees as features;
Picnic and barbeque facilities;
A toddler pool; and
Monsoon forest walk
