Tourists have already started pouring in with 96% of hotels all packed the fourth of July weekend. The prediction is that hundreds of thousands of tourists will flood the entire town for the whole month, and their spending is estimated to be around $1.4 billion.
A visitor, Ashley Bakke, from Minnesota said, “We just decided to come this week, and then realized afterwards that all the craziness is after we go home.”
But the room she is staying in will soon be snatched by someone else as July is all packed for San Diego.
The Fourth of July fireworks will continue for a week or so with its All-Star Game festivities, and the traffic is expected to go all haywire during this time. Already signs closures have been put on busy streets like J Street, 5th Avenue, and others around Petco Park.
The Pride Parade will be taking place the next weekend, with the entire month filled with people all over.
San Diegans who have no intention of joining avoid can take the trolley, or even use the 10News app to check the traffic.
Graham Steed, visiting from London said, “I think they’ll all come down here to see the fun.”
