May 2015 saw Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland open their first joint national park: the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park with its mystic moors, colourful flower meadows and breathtaking rocky landscape.
It provides a habitat for rare and endangered animal species, especially in the park’s sprawling beech forest.
This new national park is just another example of the biodiversity of Germany’s flora and fauna. Mother-nature has room to flourish in extensive national parks, nature parks, biosphere reserves and conservation areas.
Enjoy the unspoilt scenery and unwind in the verdant landscapes of Germany.
