A state of emergency has been declared in the fourth largest city of the US which has been left without electricity since the weather conditions deteriorated.
At least one person has died after his car was submerged in water. Banks of rivers and creeks are bursting with water. People are being forced to take boats to safety regions and some were also compelled to swim to reach safer grounds.
Temporary evacuation centers have been set up with 1000 flooded homes. The water may have poisonous snakes and ants and people especially children have been warned to set foot outdoors.
Mayor Sylvester Turner is very worried about the situation as throughout the region there is high water.
